Haynes Mission Update, WLBC Missions

Image 1) We sit with the village chief in his hut. He has the cap on his

head. Seated next to me is Mr. Coulibaly, the school director who hosts us

for services.

guess as to the age of this one?

mayor who is the second man in from the left with red shirt.

“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is

Christ the Lord.” Luke 2: 11

This was the main point of Pastor Fassara’s Christmas message. The Word of

God penetrated the hearts of the people crowded together for their very

first Christmas in N’Gouraba. At the end of the message, Mr. Keita the

mayor, spoke up. “I am deeply touched by this message concerning Jesus

Christ. I was taught that it was blasphemy to call Jesus the Son of God.

Today, I am convinced that He is just as the Christians say He is. Truly

Jesus is the Savior. I give you, the Christians in this place, my personal

support to establish a church here.”

After the service, Dan and Marsha accompanied other of the believers to the

houses of the mayor and the village chief. After loooong customary

greetings, we were offered free property to build a church on. I understand

that this has been in the works for a while already and a meeting to discuss

official paperwork is planned for later this week.

After the visits, believers and their village guests enjoyed a humble, yet

delicious meal together. Dan and Marsha were delighted to be a part.

Actually, we had planned to spend Christmas with the main Bamako church, but

were called on at the last minute to drive our truck to N’Gouraba because

the other vehicle had broken down.

Would you pray over these matters?

1) For wisdom in the choice between two property locations, each with it’s

pros and cons.

2) For resolution of some conflicts that exist between government

authorities and pastors over the handling of property exchanges in the past.

3) For continued eagerness of the villagers to hear and understand the Word.

4) For the salvation and edification of many who are coming to meetings

twice a month.

Impacted forever by “a Savior, which is Christ the Lord”, Dan and Marsha

Because some of you are not able to receive pictures, we are sending them

only to select addresses. For those who received pictures last week, there

is no need to ask. But for others, if you wish to receive pictures, please

let us know.
